Gabriel is from a low-income family. He began attending United Way community school in 2nd grade. Within one year, Gabriel has made tremendous strides in his learning and his chances for graduation have increased. He’s a little boy who can’t control his home life… but he’s smart, amazing and deserves the opportunity to SOAR!
United Way of Erie County works with local funded organizations, initiatives, volunteers and businesses to mobilize the community. Together, we are changing the lives of thousands of people across our region and are working to achieve the LIVE UNITED 2025 BOLD challenge to the community to help 10,000 more local families become self-sufficient by May 17, 2025.
Lasting change starts with our children. By preparing and supporting them in school, connecting family and community support, and providing education and growth opportunities, we can create healthier, more financially stable communities.
Family stability is vital to children’s success in school. A child is affected not only by their school environment but also by what happens out of school.
