Damali is a self-driven, goal-oriented professional with a proven track record of coordinating subject matter programs in an educational setting. Prior to her current position at United Way, Damali served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member with Lake Effect Leaders in Erie.
As an AmeriCorps VISTA Community School Liaison, Damali was responsible for implementation of the VISTA project, a program focused on building capacity at existing and future Community Schools across Erie County by supporting the alignment of community resources with specific needs of impoverished students, families, and neighborhoods to ensure students are academically successful and families are self-sufficient.
As an integral member of the VISTA project, Damali gathered and researched data on other United Ways and United Way Worldwide, identifying their collective impact strategy and how it impacted basic and emergency needs; Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; and public advocacy.
