Elementary Schools: Explorers Club Cavaliers Game Experience
Students and families from Perry and McKinley Elementary Schools participated in an Explorers Club field trip to the Cleveland
Cavaliers vs. Golden State Warriors game. The experience brought families from two school communities together and included
such unforgettable moments for families like lining the court for the Warriors tunnel and high-fiving players as they entered the floor.

RECENT STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIPS
goIT at JoAnna Connell and Pfeiffer-Burleigh United Way recently brokered a transformative partnership to bring goIT STEM curriculum to JoAnna
Connell and Pfeiffer-Burleigh Elementary Schools. The partnership emerged through strategic connection efforts of the Community School Model.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a partner of Erie Insurance, offers high-quality STEM programming as part of their community engagement initiatives. Erie Insurance's longstanding relationship with United Way through the Community Schools Model was a key element that brought all interested parties to the same table. Together, TCS, Erie Insurance, and United Way of Erie County launched the pilot goIT afterschool program at Perry Elementary, where trained Erie Insurance volunteers led two six-week sessions covering ideation, innovation, and design.
STEM teachers at JoAnna Connell and Pfeiffer-Burleigh will receive goIT curriculum and training for multi-week in-school implementation starting in fall of 2026. Fifth graders will showcase their accomplishments in a celebration organized by United Way Community School Directors at the
conclusion of the curriculum.
This collaboration represents a full-circle success, demonstrating how United Way's convening power
and strategic coordination can align corporate resources, district expertise, and community needs to
create meaningful opportunities for students in underserved communities.
