The 16 United Way Community Schools in Erie County all have a basic needs and supply closets—Community Closets, which serve as an invaluable resource for students and families. With a new calendar year and semester, many of the basic supplies—including personal hygiene products such as soap, shampoo, deodorant, feminine products, toothbrushes and toothpaste, underwear and socks as well as school supplies have been depleted due to the high demand in the fall and around the holidays.

This is the time of year to restock the closets to keep students on track and ready to learn every day and to keep families on a path toward feeling stable and secure. And, we need your help.

Community Closet Restock runs this Friday, February 17 through February 24. This year, we are encouraging monetary donations to this drive which will be divided among the participating Community Schools. Your support will help our efforts to make sure school Community Closets are fully stocked for children in need.
