Across United Way Community Schools last week, the red carpets rolled out as students made their way through the front doors for a new school year.
For some, there were nerves. For others, plenty of excitement. But waiting to greet them was more than just their school community.
Community School Corporate Partners, Women United volunteers, United Way staff and other community supporters showed up to cheer students on and make that first walk into school feel a little more exciting and a lot more welcoming.
It may seem like a small moment, but it sends a big message.
You have people in your corner.
We’re incredibly thankful for the partners and volunteers who continue to show up for United Way Community Schools.
From the first day of school to the last, that support reminds teachers and school staff they are not alone, and shows students and families that their community is behind them.
And that deserves a round of applause.
