Lori Krause

Lori Krause is our Senior Director of Community Impact. Lori directly manages and supervises Community School Directors (CSDs). She also works collaboratively with CSDs, school principals, lead partners and corporate partners to support the unique programs implemented throughout United Way's community schools model that address nonacademic barriers to student success.

Born and raised in Erie, Lori comes to United Way from Mercyhurst University where her most recent position was Director of Academic Engagement. Her 11 years of experience in higher education including five years in student support management has enabled Lori to work collaboratively across departmental silos in order to develop a wholistic approach to meeting the needs of all students so they may thrive and succeed academically.

Within a couple of years, Lori was promoted to Director of Academic Engagement at Mercyhurst’s main campus. Her responsibilities included overseeing the Tutoring Center, Testing Center, Academic Accommodations and First-Year Experience. Building on her team members’ strengths, turning challenges into opportunities and creating a collaborative environment that embraces the uniqueness of each individual.

On a personal note, Lori grew up in Erie and attended Harding Elementary and Collegiate Academy. She has a BA in Psychology from Carlow University and an MA in Counseling from Edinboro University. Lori is married to Jason Krause and resides in the City of Erie with their two sons, Jack and Luke.
