United Way Funding

United Way of Erie County funding will continue for numerous programs and initiatives, including:

Student Success from Birth

**For United Way's Community Schools initiative, 7 schools will receive support, resources and services through agencies funded by United Way, including:

  • Edison Elementary
  • Pfeiffer-Burleigh Elementary
  • McKinley Elementary
  • Iroquois Elementary
  • Elk Valley Elementary
  • Strong Vincent Middle School
  • East Middle School

A total of 4,534 children AND their families will be supported at these schools, receiving basic needs (through food pantries, clothing closets, on-site medical services) as well as mental/behavioral health services, tutoring, enrichment programs plus resources for adults including parental support, educational/vocational training, etc.

    • Financial Assistance at St. Martin Center
    • Emergency Human Services at Salvation Army – Erie Service Unit
    • Direct Assistance at Salvation Army – Erie Temple Corps

PLEASE NOTE: Significant additional funding will be directed to agencies for programs services to support student success from birth and family stability beginning July 2018.
