UW Free Little Library 011 compressor

United Way unveiled a pair of recycled newspaper boxes as their Little Free Library during at Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on May 21. United Way is SO happy to bring another location where children and their families can get FREE books to read in our neighborhood.

The opening of the Little Free Library at United Way offices is part of our effort to raise awareness about the summer slide - when children, especially from low-income homes, risk falling behind in their educational skills. By reading just 6 books - and 20 minutes a day - children can avoid the negative effects of the summer slide - and be on track for the next school year - and success in life! We encourage donations directly to LFLs - and we are also accepting new age-appropriate books for children 5-14 years old - or K-8th grade through Friday, May 24. Check out locations of LFLs throughout our community at UnitedWayErie.org/LittleFreeLibraries
