For many children in the Erie region, especially those from lower income households, obtaining necessary school supplies can be a real challenge. Not having these educational tools can be an obstacle to becoming successful during the school year.
United Way is committed to helping ensure students succeed and enter the coming school year ready to learn! And, YOU can help children throughout Erie County go back to school prepared. Companies and individuals are invited to participate in United Way’s “Kickoff for Student Success” by donating needed educational tools for children in Erie County. New school supplies can be donated to one of ten drop-off locations across Erie County on August 15. Collected supplies will be distributed to United Way’s partner elementary schools throughout Erie County.
Top needed school supplies include: baby wipes, binders, book bags, calculators, clorox wipes, colored pencils, crayons, erasers, Expo markers, 2-pocket folders, glue sticks, highlighters, markers, paper, pencil cases, pencils, rulers, sanitizer, scissors, tissues, and ziploc bags.
