Homeless Persons Memorial Day is December 21

Please join us Monday, December 21 in Perry Square at 10am for a Homeless Persons Memorial Day ceremony.

Each year, on or near the first day of winter and the longest night of the year, The Home Team of Erie County coordinates an event to commemorate Homeless Persons' Memorial Day. This is a day when our community comes together to bring attention to the tragedy of homelessness and to remember our homeless friends who have died in the past year.

This is an opportunity to recognize and remember the lives of the mothers and fathers, sons and daughters who died on our streets or in our emergency shelters from illness or conditions directly related to their homelessness. In many cases, this service will be the only commemoration of their lives.
