GetConnectedErie.org recently underwent an upgrade! Here are some of the key new features to Erie County's volunteer portal!
New filters: Get Connected 2.0 has streamlined the available filters so it's not as daunting to tag each opportunity with multiple descriptions. All of your current opportunities were transitioned to the new filters on your behalf, but it would be a good idea to double check and see if you want to make any revisions.
Clusters: To enhance our ability to connect specific volunteers to your organization, we now have the ability to "cluster" opportunities and share a specific list of projects with interested groups. For instance, we have a specific list of opportunities for college students, families, large groups, etc. When you edit a volunteer opportunity, you can add multiple "clusters" to ensure it shows up on the appropriate list. I encourage you to explore the clusters that are currently marked for your opportunities and ensure they are showing up on the appropriate lists.
Community events: In addition to sharing opportunities to get involved as a volunteer, you can now post events hosted by your organization. For instance, you might want to encourage community members to attend your annual meeting, come to a fundraiser, or participate in a walk. This is a great way to share events at your organization that don't necessarily need volunteers, but still need to be promoted in the community!
Volunteer Slots: For short-term opportunities and events, you can now list a maximum capacity for volunteers and Get Connected will update slots remaining when volunteers respond.
