In an effort to keep donors, partners and the broader Erie region informed, United Way of Erie County has announced the launch of Community School Connections, a quarterly eNewsletter dedicated to highlighting the work happening at its five pilot community schools. Erie FREE Taxes needs volunteer tax preparers for the 2018 tax filing season. Every tax filer has a story. As a volunteer tax preparer, you will hear some of their stories and experience first-hand how you make a difference when you LIVE United as a VITA volunteer. On October 20, Safe Journey announced that they have been awarded a $748,613 grant from the Office of Violence Against Women. In addition to the grant, United Way of Erie County and The Erie Community Foundation will provide funding to purchase a transport vehicle that will be outfitted as a counseling space and used to provide outreach counseling services and prevention programs for adults and youth at parks, trailer parks and housing units throughout rural Erie County.
