Give 10%. Give 100%. Give 110%. Give a Saturday. Give your best. We all have special talents…things we can do to help. And when we reach out a hand to one, we influence the condition of all.
GUIDELINES
These guidelines have been developed to help you plan ahead and stay on track.
- Select a Project Leader.
- Recruit a TEAM of well-organized people who have great ideas and want to make a difference. Lead a brainstorming session with them.
- Select a project that your TEAM will complete on or about the actual Day of Caring.
- Organize the logistics for your TEAM. Consider items such as:
- Supplies/Materials
- Insurance Coverage
- Lunch
- Chaperones
- Transportation
- Maps/Instructions
- Recruit additional volunteers to help with your Day of Caring project.
- Complete the Day of Caring Registration Form (below).

- Clean Up:
- Neighborhood Areas
- Presque Isle Clean-Up
- Elderly Residents Property
- School Grounds
- Playgrounds or Parks
- Landscape:
- Plant flowers/trees
- Pick up debris/rake
- Human Service:
- Visit with seniors
- Collect food for a local pantry
- Volunteer at a soup kitchen
Ways to Recognize and Thank Volunteers:
- United Way will provide each volunteer with a coupon for two (2) Reserved Seats courtesy of the Erie SeaWolves. *Subject to availability.
- Give an inexpensive gift, like pins or a certificate
- Say “Thank You” many times!
